Building on past success, the School of Business has made the pathway through the Business Administrative programs more flexible. There are now泭three credentials泭that allow you to progress from a泭certificate泭to a泭diploma泭to an泭applied degree泭and you can apply, exit and return at any stage.

If you already have a related diploma from Camosun or another institution, consider泭applying directly to the degree program, to begin your second or third year courses, depending on your previous education. Contact the Program Assistant泭棗娶 Academic Advising泭for more information.泭

BBA Marketing degree graduates work in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, including: Marketing, Communications or Information Officers; Business Development Managers; Marketing Managers/Coordinators; Public Relations Officers, Research Officers; Business Development Managers, Account Executives, and Sales Associates or Managers.

What to expect

The泭program consists of 40泭courses泭which can be completed in approximately four泭years if taken on a full-time basis. Evening and daytime classes are held predominantly at the Interurban campus and the program can be taken on a part-time basis.

Year 1

In your first year, youll work through introductorylevel courses in accounting, finance, economics, and marketing. Exit the program now with a Business Administration certificate or continue on to Year 2.

Year 2

In your second year, you'll be taking courses in marketing research, creative selling, and entrepreneurship. Exit the program now with a business administration diploma or continue on to the bachelor of business administration.

Year 3

In third year, the marketing major allows you to broaden and deepen your marketing skills and knowledge and you'll be taking courses in sustainable marketing, global business strategies, public relations, and communication tools & media.

Year 4

For your fourth year of the BBA, you'll be taking courses in strategic marketing, project management, digital marketing, and advanced communications.

Co-operative Education option

Apply your classroom skills in the workplace and bring your workplace skills back to the classroom! When you engage in co-operative education, you get an early start on preparing for your career after graduation!泭 You will have the opportunity to alternate between full-time studies and full-time paid work where you can bring your applied learning classroom to life.

To participate in Co-operative Education, prior to your first work term you will need to successfully complete

  • Eight (8) first year courses, with a cumulative泭GPA泭of 3.0 (C+), and
  • the Career Development-Workplace Preparation Skills (CDEV-WPS) course

Under Canadian Immigration Law, as an international student you are eligible to participate in co-operative education and you can legally work in Canada during specified work terms.泭 The泭Work Permit Checklist for international students泭will assist in planning your participation in co-operative education.

When you apply you will need to submit proof that you meet the program admission requirements listed above. Where a letter grade is specified, you must have proof of that grade or higher.

Program participation requirements

  • Many first year Business courses require Math as a prerequisite (e.g. C in Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11,泭MATH 073,泭MATH 077, MATH 137,泭棗娶 C+ in泭MATH 072,泭MATH 075, or MATH 135).泭 Students may enter this program without Math but please note, students must complete one of the Math courses as listed above or successfully complete Camosuns Math assessment in or before their first semester of study.
