Two ways to do your Professional Cook technical training

As an apprentice, youll spend about 80% of your time on the job, so you earn while you learn. In addition to that practical experience, you also need to sign up for technical training each year.

You can take the technical training portions of your culinary apprenticeship in person or online.

    The泭E-PPRENTICE Cook program泭provides the option for泭online course delivery泭so you can work around your schedule.

    Apprentices should apply for泭Apprentice EI (Service Canada)泭financial support before the start of the program and up to 4 weeks in advance. Late applications may result in Service Canada denying funding.

    Let's get you started

    Camosun accepts applications to apprenticeship technical training programs泭year-round.

    To apply you must have:

    • A泭registered employer who will sponsor and train you and;
    • A valid SkilledTradesBC registration number.

    An apprentice泭must be sponsored泭by an employer泭who is泭registered泭at SkilledTradesBC. If you and your employer agree to enter into a contract for an apprenticeship, either of you may contact泭泭to register you as an apprentice.
