Political Science

Are you interested in how power operates in your world?

Politics is the study of power.

Influence comes in many forms. Politics shapes your life, your choices, your ability to be who you are or want to become.泭 It influences the nature of families, the role of education, work, and even sex.泭

In the classroom

At Camosun, we take a hands-on approach to learning. Youll learn by doing, exploring, questioning, and even breaking ideas and assumptions:

  • How does social media shape the泭world around me?
  • What is power?泭 How can people fight for whats right?泭
  • How can I make sense of complicated international wars?泭
  • How can peoples point of view differ so much from one place to the next?泭
  • How can we actually make a difference on climate change?泭
  • How does Canadas politics work?
  • How does Canadas politics intersect with Indigenous politics?

A great time to choose political science

Not only are local and provincial governments keen to hire the next generation of problem solvers, but the study of political science is a great starting point for careers in law, business, and international development泭
