Did you know librarians work hard to help students become better researchers?

Throughout the year, librarians actively visit classrooms across all schools, guiding students through essential information literacy skills, such as how to search smarter, cite properly, evaluate sources, identify misinformation, and more. As the semester wraps up, we wanted to highlight this work. 泭
This year, librarians taught 210 classes, reaching over 5,000 students in the classroom alone! The college-wide impact of librarians on student learning is expansive, with additional instruction available at our Research Help Desk locations and in one-on-one scheduled appointments throughout the year.

To make learning even more accessible, the librarians have developed three self-paced Discover courses on D2L:
- 泭
- 泭
- 泭
These courses are open to all students, easy to integrate into classes, and offer digital badges upon completion. Between Fall 2024 and Winter 2025, 3,280 Camosun students completed the courses, with Academic Integrity being the most popular.
These badges are a great way for instructors to track student progress and for students to showcase their skills.
If you are interested in adding any of these classes to your courses, reach out to the librarian team across all Camosun departments and disciplines, librarians empower students to learn and thrive.泭
