Peninsula Co-opAward description
The Peninsula Co-op Entrance Award is a non-repayable award that recognizes outstanding academic achievement upon high school graduation to students entering full-time post-secondary studies in the Fall semester at 51Թapp. In addition to outstanding academic achievement, the applicant (or a family member) must have an active Peninsula Co-op membership and must have contributed to their community and/or high school in a significant way through volunteer or extra-curricular activities. The award is adjudicated on a competitive basis.
Criteria
Criteria
- Must be an active Peninsula Co-op member or relative of a member (parents, step-parents, guardian, sibling, aunt, uncle). The membership must be active prior to September 1 of the previous year (for the 2024 award period, the membership must have been active prior to September 2023).
- Peninsula Co-op Membership must be in good standing.
- Must have attained outstanding academic achievement (B average or higher) upon high school graduation (grade 11 and 12).
- Must be enrolled or planning to enrol in the upcoming Fall semester in an eligible full time program leading to a credential, and be within 12 months of high school graduation.
- Must be able to demonstrate significant contributions to community, or high school, through volunteer or extra-curricular activities.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Application process
Selection process
- Complete the online application by September 30.
- Upload supporting documentation with online application. Include:
- Personal statement outlining your volunteer and community involvement.
- Copy of your high school transcript.
Additional Information
- Complete applications must be submitted by September 30. All supporting documentation must be received by this date. Late, incomplete, or printed applications will not be accepted.
- Adjudication of this award will be managed by the Financial Aid and Awards office. All decisions are final.
- Successful recipients will be notified by email by November 15.
- Award will be applied directly to the student's Camosun account. If tuition and fees have already been paid, the surplus amount will be refunded.
- Entrance awards cannot be deferred to a future semester or year.
- Students will not normally receive more than one entrance award.
